COMMUNITY BUILDING SEMINAR with Seth Holmes

More about Seth Holmes and his research project

Seth Holmes will present an overview of his research leading up to his current project at IMéRA.  He will begin by presenting field research theorizing transnational mobility, social inequities and health in the contexts of US-Mexico migration and Europe-Syria refugeeism.  This will include the discussion of a collaborative visual ethnographic film he is producing with Indigenous Mexican migrant youth in the US who are the co-directors.  His presentation will conclude with preliminary explorations of his current project focused on the production of clinical subjectivity and the clinical gaze in medical education, particularly related to the ways in which medical doctors perceive and respond to social inequities.

The "Community Building Seminar" is held weekly and allows residents to share their research, issues and methods with other residents on a rotating basis.
