This presentation comes from a draft chapter of my book, tentatively titled "Training for Unequal Care: Medical Students and Social Inequality in the 21st Century". This chapter combines ethnography focused on indigenous migrant farmworker health in the United States with reflexive analysis of medical training. The chapter develops a phenomenological, embodied understanding of the production of the medical gaze in the midst of significant and growing social inequalities in the U.S. Tacking back and forth between ethnography and theorization, the chapter seeks to highlight the importance of the clinical subjectivation of health professionals to the care experienced by patients in the midst of racial capitalism.

Le "Community Building Seminar" a lieu chaque semaine et permet aux résidents de partager à tour de rôle leurs recherches, problématiques et méthodes avec les autres résidents, dans le respect des normes sanitaires et gestes barrières en vigueur.
